Tallahassee, Florida

the setting

A few words on Tallahassee: it's amazing, and probably nothing like what you're expecting. Some people may have concerns about the location -- that it will be "too small" or "too Southern" or "lacking in things to do."  Happily, those concerns are typically readily and repeatedly falsified.

At its heart, Tallahassee is a college town that's preserved its Southern look and feel. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat, especially on game days. The scenery is also hard to beat. Tallahassee's unique topography features lakes, rivers, parks, forests, and canopy roads of Spanish moss-draped oaks. Running, hiking, cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing are just some of the outdoor activities that people here regularly enjoy. Located just 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, trips to the beach and coastline are common too.
